Custom built
for Canadian guitar virtuoso, Erik Mongrain, this guitar
probably has the best resonance and beautiful harmonic overtones
of any I've built yet. Beautiful dark brazilian rosewood
sides and back and a master grade adirondack top. Erik
went for the "dark" look with mostly black ebony bindings,
bridge pins, bridge, back of headstock, carbon saddle and nut
with very fine light purfling lines for accent. Built with
Erik's custom low tunings and use of tapping in mind -
intonation set for low tunings and some additional bracing in
top.
This guitar was
played exclusively by Erik on his 2008 album "Equilibrium".
Maybe not as indestructible as Erik's Rainsong... but he prefers
playing K-38 which he has nicknamed "Elora" over all his other
guitars.
